Kief is a city in McHenry County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 13 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area. Kief was founded in 1908.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.2 km²), of which, 1.2 square miles (3.2 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (1.61%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 13 people, 8 households, and 3 families residing in the city. The population density was 10.7 people per square mile (4.1/km²). There were 18 housing units at an average density of 14.8/sq mi (5.7/km²). Everyone in the town identifies with the White race.
